A trade delegation led by President of Rawalpindi Chamber of Commerce and Industry (RCCI) held a meeting with Chief Executive Officer(CEO) Cantonment Board Dr. Saima Shah to discuss issues faced by the business community.
Key issues faced by traders were discussed, including; parking, traffic congestion, violation of building laws, property tax, board tax and sealing of business centres.
The delegation comprised RCCI President Raja Amer Iqbal, Senior Vice President Rashid Waien, Vice President Asim Malik, former president Asad Mashadi, Anjaman Tajran Cantt representative Zahid Bakhtawari and others.
The CEO of Cantonment Board, Saima Shah, assured full support and cooperation to resolve the problems faced by the business community. She said the government prefers to boost trade activities in the city, adding that no trader will be harassed on the account of tax collection where all cases will be monitored in person.
RCCI President Raja Amer said single lane parking should be allowed near Al Amin Plaza Chowk, Sadar, to ease severe problems being faced by commuters.
He urged the administration not to approve building maps without parking facilities and that pending cases of tax collection, fines and board tax should be resolved amicably.
