The Federal Government has expedited work on the construction of Lowari Tunnel to minimise sufferings of people of Chitral.
National Highway Authority (NHA) sources said, “90 per cent work has been completed and the tunnel will be opened to traffic in March 2017.”
“Government is spending 27 billion rupees on the construction of 8.7 kilometres long Lowari Tunnel”, the sources added.
“With the completion of the tunnel, travelling time between Peshawar and Chitral will be reduced to seven hours from the existing fourteen hours.”
