Says PTI chief has made Punjab a ring to become PM
TAKHT BHAI: Provincial president of the Awami National Party (ANP) Amir Haider Hoti said on Sunday that the Chairman of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Imran Khan wants anarchy and he has turned Punjab into a ring to become the prime minister. He said the recent protest call by the PTI exposed the party’s popularity.
Speaking at a public meeting in Fazalabad here, Hoti said Imran Khan and Nawaz Sharif were benefiting Punjab at the cost of Pakhtuns. “The PTI and its leadership should have given a protest call on the issue of China Pakistan Economic Corridor,” he said, adding that the party was voted to power by the Pakhtuns and protection of Pakhtun’s rights was its responsibility.
The ANP provincial president said that Pakhtuns were suffering for the PTI chief’s lust for power. He said Punjab rejected PTI’s protest call and predicted their demise in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa in the next general elections. He said the tug-of-war between the PTI leadership and the federal government is affecting the province. He added that interference from Banigala had affected development schemes in the province.
The former chief minister deplored that the province’s resources were being spent on the protest campaign of the party chief, claiming that ministers in the province were ineffective as Jehangir Tareen was controlling the government from Banigala.
He also said that depriving the smaller provinces of their resources would have serious consequences for the Federation. “Holding of census before National Finance Commission Award, merger of Fata with Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, construction of western route ahead of other CPEC projects and implementation of National Action Plan can resolve several problems,” he added. He asked the federal government not to stop the development projects in the province due to its tussle with the PTI government.
